Dangerous Publisher Branches Into Religious Fiction

Dangerous Little Books is proud to announce the launch of its first ever fiction title, Hellbound.

The book is the debut work of novelist Tim Hawken. Hailing from Australia, Hawken pulls no punches in this dynamic tale, which takes the reader on a journey to the bowels of Hell.

“It’s an exploration of today’s idea of sin in a contemporary world.” Hawken said. “You’ve never seen the afterlife like this before, I can guarantee. It’s sure to raise a few eyebrows.”

The controversial themes of the novel will no doubt polarize the opinions of readers. The story follows main character Michael, as he journeys through Hell in a bid to discover why he is there and why he has been damned. With the help of Satan, he unveils a startling truth, which could change existence forever. Other characters include Michael’s love Charlotte, a geriatric pilot named Smithy and even an appearance by God himself.

Fellow Dangerous Little Books author CJ Werleman is full of praise for the book: “Every now and then you read a book and think to yourself, ‘Man, this a Hollywood blockbuster in the making’. This is such a book. It’s that good! Brilliantly, Hawken blends drama, theology, and philosophy into a thrilling tale that probes the greatest question of all – what happens after death?”

The fact that Hellbound is the first fiction book to be released to Dangerous Little Books is testament to its quality.

“The story of Hellbound is uniquely brilliant.” Dangerous Little Books founder, Joe Gregory said. “While we normally stick to non-fiction titles, the opportunity to launch a book with so much potential was too good to pass up.”

With strong philosophical tones and a blazing wit, Hellbound will have you pondering the reasons for life, while being entertained at the same time. A non-stop rollercoaster ride through a realm you’ve never been, it is fast paced, edgy and ultimately tragic.

Bound to be a future classic, Hellbound by tim Hawken is available now in paperback and Kindle editions at Amazon and all good bookstores.

SYNOPSIS

“You look very confused when I say I’m just trying to help these lost souls make their way to Heaven,” he said. “The reason you’re confused is that you think I’m speaking metaphorically. Well, my dear friend, take it very literally. You see, I may have introduced myself as Asmodeus, but let me run off a few of my more well known aliases. Now, let’s see, we have Mephistopheles, Beelzebub, Bafomet, Iblis, The Fallen One, Lucifer, The Morning Star, Lord of the Dark, The Devil, oh and my favorite; Satan.”

Face to face with Satan, Michael has awoken in the bowels of Hell with no memory of who he is, or why he has been damned.

Hell, however, isn’t what he expected. Rather than the fires of torment, he finds a hedonistic city of gambling, sex, murder and revenge.

With the Devil as his guide, Michael embarks on a quest of self-discovery and self redemption. But will he get a second chance at salvation? And why is Satan helping him?

Hellbound is a contemporary view of Hell, exploring today’s idea of sin and religion, through witty dialogue and bursts of descriptive prose.

Dark, funny and philosophical.

Dangerous Little Books is proud to announced the launch of its first ever fiction title, Hellbound.

The story follows main character Michael, as he searches through Hell in a bid to discover why he is there and why is he been damned. With the help of Satan, he unveils a startling truth, which could change existence forever. Other characters include Michael’s love Charlotte, a geriatric pilot named Smithy and even an appearance by God himself.

“The story of Hellbound is uniquely brilliant.” DLB spokesperson, Joe Gregory said. “While we normally stick to non-fiction titles, the opportunity to launch a book with so much potential was too good to pass up.”

With strong philosophical tones and a blazing wit, Hellbound will have you pondering the reasons for life, while being entertained at the same time.
Controversial Author Believes The New Testament Makes A Liar of Christ

‘Jesus Lied. He Was Only Human’ is CJ Werleman’s much anticipated follow up to his debut and bestseller ‘God Hates You. Hate Him Back’. In this latest full frontal assault on popular religious doctrine, Werleman applies the tools of textual criticism to highlight the irreconcilable discrepancies, contradictions, dubious origins, historical, geographical, and human flaws of the New Testament.

Written in CJ’s familiar laconic and humorous fashion, he has achieved, again, what few before him have succeeded in doing: making theological examination funny and entertaining, while remaining enlightening and reverent.

Expectedly, Christian readers will be shocked and mortified to discover the extent of evident textual flaws, on which their faith is based, especially those that believe in biblical inerrancy, whereas non-believers will shrill with delight, and, undoubtedly, be eager to reference each and every page to their respective evangelical family and friends.

“This book is not some kind of murky conspiracy theory”, says CJ, “the evidence for the lies that Jesus and his biographers told, the embellishment of created myth and handed down hearsay, are easily demonstrated when you lay the books of the New Testament side-by-side with one another.”

‘Jesus Lied. He Was Only Human’ uncovers not only the theological and narrative contradictions of the New Testament authors, it makes a thorough examination of the origins of Christianity, the authorship of the New Testament, the corruption of the faith’s founders and manuscript scribes, and how all pieced together, the myth construction is exposed for all to see.

When asked how does this book differ from ‘God Hates You. Hate Him Back’, Werleman commented, “Completely contrasting approaches. My first book is a poke fun of the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, to demonstrate that if the God of the Bible were, in fact, a sentient being, he’d be an evil, capricious, malevolent, genocidal, misogynistic bully, and, most certainly, an entity worthy of our contempt and disdain rather than subservient praise. The objective of ‘Jesus Lied’, however, is to expose the Messiah myth, and that this can be achieved with little more than the few hundred pages of the New Testament before you.”

Unlike his first book, which by CJ’s own admission is a song sheet for atheists, agnostics, and anti-theists, ‘Jesus Lied’ will appeal to Christians as a means of examining the roots of their faith, and an introduction to lay textual criticism. For the non-believers, it will be powerful armory for rigorous religious debate.

SYNOPSIS
‘Jesus Lied. He Was Only Human’ is arguably the most comprehensive and exhaustive debunking of the Christian myth on bookshelves today. Like a forensic accountant, Werleman meticulously pulls apart the New Testament thread-by-thread until the greatest lie ever told if exposed for all to see. Werleman not only reveals the suffering – Jesus caused his early followers, he cleverly demonstrates that the New Testament is brimming with contradictory views, conflicting accounts, historical flaws, and irreconcilable discrepancies. Comprehensive. Funny. Entertaining. A must read for anyone who wants to silence their evangelical friends.

“God Hates You, Hate Him Back!” Says Controversial Author in A New Book That Pokes Fun At The Holy Scriptures

With people like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens leading the way, more and more books discrediting the idea that a single sentient being created everything around us are being devoured by atheists tired of being labeled as un-godly and silenced legally, socially and culturally by the prevalent creationist systems lying behind the world’s most powerful (and arguably most violent) governments.

The problem with all these books, as the author sees it, is these books are brilliant if you have mind for science, and/or a genuine interest in theology, but for a majority of people they are cumbersome to read. While making them popular with the intellectual elite, they are for your average literary hobbyist, complex, and far from entertaining.

CJ Werleman, Australian-born author of “God Hates You, Hate Him Back” says, “I believe people learn more when they find reading a pleasure, and with an entire genre of anti-religious texts sprouting up all over the place, I hadn’t come across any title that just laid out the entire Bible in a manner that for me was pleasurable. And the scriptures of the Bible are wonderful stories that are just begging to be told with a giggle.”

CJ, who witnessed first-hand the religiously motivated terrorist atrocities in Bali in 2005, continues, “The objective of the book is to provide the reader with a thorough understanding of the Bible, from end-to-end, while also demonstrating that the ‘God’ people worship so readily and unquestioningly is a vengeful bully, with a monopoly on evil. Which I guess is primarily why the Devil had no reason to publish his own book.”

CJ hopes that his approach of using the source of the creationists’ belief-system to make a compelling argument against worshipping such a malevolent patriarch can bridge the gap between superstitious belief and rational understanding by at least shaking believers out of their hypnotized state of relying on “faith over logic”.

Many critics of atheism claim that the fanatical fervor displayed by Dawkins and his ilk, betrays their cause. Similarly CJ believes labeling believers as infantile or moronic is counter-productive in leading religious folk to rationality, and ultimately secularism.

“The best device we have for secularism or atheism is the Bible itself. When you have all the Biblical assertions laid out in front of you, it is almost impossible to continue holding onto the beliefs created by a tribe of nomadic goat herders, who believed the shovel to be emergent technology!”

CJ adds, “Essentially this book demystifies The Bible by using plain speak and humor. I show the reader what it is that pleases God invariably baby killing, and ethnic cleansing. While also demonstrating that not only was Jesus an overtly racist false prophet, and not very nice to his mother, his biography was crudely hammered together by people who never met him.”

When asked what he hoped to achieve with his book, CJ quipped, “I hope my book provides one small stepping stone on humanity’s journey away from ancient beliefs that retard social progress and promote human conflict rather than solidarity.”

SYNOPSIS
God Hates You, Hate Him Back makes the ultimate case for the claim that the God of the Bible is the most wicked character in the pages of history. With a wit as dry as a martini, and the cross examination techniques of a seasoned lawyer, CJ Werleman lays out all sixty-six chapters of the Bible to present an irrefutable argument that indeed God hates us all.

If you have never read or never fully understood The Bible then you will do no better than this unique, comedic, 21st century summary of the greatest story ever sold, or in Werleman’s own words ‘never read’.

God Hates You, Hate Him Back provides you with an arsenal of Biblical facts, stories, mythology and assertions to ensure you victory in your next religious debate.

Arguably the most unique, certainly most entertaining, rendition of the Bible ever told!
