Hello. My name is Michael Miller and I am currently in the process of putting together a blog in which myself (an atheist ) and a friend (a Christian) discuss various topics. The the blog is a civil discussion between a believer and a non-believer. (which is sometimes lacking in these types of discussions....the civility I mean)
The basic tone of the blog is that she is trying to lure me 'back into the fold' (when we were teens we met at a Christian camp and dated briefly) and I am trying to show her the rational/logical side of the issues.
We have discussed a few different Christian themed books ( Blue Like Jazz for example)and I would like for her to read books with an opposing viewpoint, but I am hesitant to ask her to look at weightier books (The god Delusion for example) because of preconceived notions on her part. I'm hoping that a book with a lighter tone and lacking the preconceived notion of an "attack on Christianity" might be something we could sink our teeth into.
If it would be possible to receive a copy so that I may review it and either forward it to her or have her purchase her own copy that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Michael.
