The New Testament was written by Berenice a great granddaughter of Herod the Great. The massacre of the Innocents included her own relatives. She was born in AD28 the only year mentioned in the New Testament,see Luke chapter 3. Her motive was to put an end to the sacrifice of animals at the Jewish Passover. She obtained most of her facts but emphatically not the dates from her distant cousin Josephus.

To say that 78% ignore science is a pretty foolish misrepresentation. Nothing about the 38% option precludes the coexistence of reliable science and a god figure. Since when are gods not by definition capable of influencing the factors which influence for or against a particular trait? Surely an omnipotent and omniscient figure can cause subtle changes in environment or ecology in order to drive an immensely complex evolutionary process towards the development of humanity.

In fact this has always been the best way for a religious person to "win" in an argument about evolution. When I heard about this new thing called "Intelligent Design", I assumed they had finally decided to use it en masse: "Sure, evolution happened, but because of God's influence." I thought the argument was over, until I learned about what ID actually is. On the other hand, claiming that the 38% of Americans who believe a god had SOME form of influence over evolution is equivalent to denying science wholesale seems suspect; I have difficulty believing you are not being disingenuous and inflammatory.

I love the design of this book and the website. The title is clever and makes me laugh. Great work! While I'm in favor of calm, polite discussion, I recognize now that Atheists and the religiously minded will always differ fundamentally – being polite won't work and these issues are too important not to talk about.
